Looks like the stork has delivered!
Tan France, known most prominently for his work on the Netflix iteration of Queer Eye, has just welcomed his first son with husband Rob. The pair announced that they were expecting with a slightly humorous photo posted to Instagram back in April. At the time, Tan posted a photo with an ultrasound image over his stomach.
"Give our son a warm welcome," Tan wrote to Instagram today. "Ismail France, born July 10th. He came 7 weeks early, so he's been in the NICU for the past 3 weeks. But, today, we finally got to bring him home."
Tan also revealed that the surrogate is doing well.
The post included photos of Tan and his husband Rob and the newborn, as well as one of just Tan and the newborn. Tan and Rob, who is a self-taught freelance illustrator, have been married since 2007.
After the couple's announcement that they were expecting, they became the subject of hate. France took to Instagram to respond to those at the time.
"You really can't knock us down," France said. "I don't feel the thing that you clearly want me to feel. We feel just so happy and so grateful and we're full of so much love. I wish you were full of more love instead of being incredibly bitter."
Rob took the occasion of Ismail's journey home to release a new illustration of his new child.
