Jaboukie Young-White and Kiersey Clemons are teaming up for a new adult animated series for Amazon Prime.
According to Deadline, the series Fairfax follows four middle school best friends, two of them played by Young-White and Clemons, "on their never-ending quest for clout on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles - the pulsing heart of Hypebeast culture."
Clemons plays Derica, an aspiring model/activist who is "determined to save the planet in style" and Young-White plays Truman, "a self-proclaimed auteur filmmaker and budding Casanova."
The other two friends are Dale (Skyler Gisondo), a new kid from Oregon who "loves his dad and his fanny pack, and with his cargo shorts and hiking boots, he's the accidental poster child for normcore," and Benny (Peter S. Kim), "a savvy sneakerhead ona mission for generational clout- right after he practices cello and walks the dog."
Amazon released some images of the show, one of which can be seen below. The first two characters in the image are played by Clemons and Young-White, and are seen with the other two main characters.
They also announced today that Pose star Billy Porter will be appearing as a guest star on Fairfax, alongside others like Pamela Adlon, Yvette Nicole Brown, Rob Delaney, John Leguizamo, and Ben Schwartz.
Young-White, one of the funniest comedians online, is also currently developing a queer gang series for HBO. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is based on the book The Gang's All Queer: The Lives of Gay Gang Members, and "revolves around a closeted twenty-something in Chicago who, grieving a gang-related death, ditches college to find reckless closure."
Clemons is also staying busy, currently filming her role as Iris West, the main love interest, in the upcoming The Flash movie. She was originally cast in the role for Justice League, but was cut out of the theatrical release. However, you can still see her as West in the Snyder Cut.
Fairfax will premiere October 29 on Prime Video.
