Soap Actors Max Parker & Kris Mochrie Are Officially Engaged

Wedding bells are on the horizon for British actors Max Parker and Kris Mochrie!

In a touching Instagram post shared over the weekend, Parker announced that he popped the question to his boyfriend of nearly two years.

"He deserves the world, but the best I could do was promise him my heart," Parker captioned the Instagram post, which included a carousel of super sweet pics and videos of Parker proposing to Mochrie while the two sat beachside. "HE SAID YES. Happiest moment of my life. [Kris Mochrie], my fiance."

Mochrie shared his own post to Instagram over the weekend as well announcing their engagement.

"The beautiful soul that is my best friend asked me to marry him yesterday. I can't begin to describe how happy I am," he wrote. "I love him beyond words, we laugh every single day and I'm so so grateful that he came in to my life."

Mochrie also revealed that he had no idea the engagement was coming, and that Parker asked Mochrie's mother for some jewelry (a locket, specifically) from Mochrie's grandmother to create his custom ring. (How sweet is that?!?!)

"I had no idea at all! But it was just perfect...I mean this film says it all," Mochrie continued. "Max had asked my Mum for any jewelry that my Gran had. Mum still had my Grans locket and he has had it made into the middle of the engagement ring on the inside. So, so special. Thank you to the job that brought us together, our incredible family and friends. And the amazing love from you all. I'm a very lucky boy. WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!"

Parker and Mochrie made headlines back in 2020 after the two started dating after being cast as brothers on the long-running ITV soap Emmerdale.

The pair caused a stir when they posted Instagram pics showing them together and shirtless.

"They met on Kris' last day filming and just hit it off," a source told The Sun at the time. "They were cast as brothers and are really alike and have been joking that casting did a great job."

Even though they played brothers, the pair only met on the last day of filming for Mochrie after his departure from the series. Obviously, their first meeting was enough for both of them to know they had something special.

The two reportedly moved in together later that year.
