People stated the obvious by picking the Captain America actor for the title — and the gays have big feelings about it!

From America's Ass in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to Sexiest Man Alive by People.

Chris Evans has been formally announced as the recipient of People's Sexiest Man Alive title in 2022. In the last five years, recipients included Paul Rudd (2021), Michael B. Jordan (2020), John Legend (2019), Idris Elba (2018), and Blake Shelton (2017). Evans is the third-ever actor in the MCU's Avengers team to be named People's Sexiest Man Alive, succeeding Rudd (2021) and Chris Hemsworth (2014).

Overall, it's a pretty unanimous opinion among mainstream audiences that Evans' great looks and physique make him incredibly deserving of this title. And yet, some critics believe that this also feels like a quite dull and boring choice for the year of 2022.

As expected, Gay Twitter has a wide range of thoughts, opinions, hot takes, and excited tweets about Evans' anointment as this year's Sexiest Man Alive.

It would've been exciting to see an LGBTQ+ person be chosen as the Sexiest Man Alive in 2022. However, the readers of People are predominantly straight women, which explains a lot of the publication's choices for this title.

But hey, we should've at least gotten a better spotlight of "America's Ass" in Evans' Sexiest Man Alive photoshoot... or is that asking for too much?
