This modern family is getting even bigger.
Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and actor/producer Justin Mikita are expecting another baby! And they're taking action to make sure their children grow up in a safe and free world.
"Justin Mikita and I have some exciting news, we're expecting number 2!" Ferguson said on Instagram. "Our growing family will be a family of four later this fall! We are so excited for Beckett to have a sibling."
Ferguson also got serious about the state of the world that they'll be bringing their child into.
"Like the majority of people in this country right now, we are heartbroken at the attacks all over the country - from senseless gun violence to state-by-state attacks on our transgender family and an onslaught of attacks on women's reproductive health."
In addition to announcing their new child, Ferguson announced that they are partnering with Mili Mili, a female-owned, small business that offers a line of custom sleep sacks, crib sheets, eye masks, and robes designed by queer artist Katie Kaapcke. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to PRONOUN, Ferguson and Mikita's non-profit that raises funds for organizations fighting for LGBTQIA+ equality.
Additionally, the couple is donating $25,000 to the ACLU, National Abortion Federation, and Everytown for Gun Safety. "We are so excited to have a little one joining our growing family -- and so proud to support the choice to do it," Ferguson said.
The happy couple announced that they were expecting their first child back in January of 2020, and announced the birth of Beckett Mercer Ferguson-Mikita on July 7 of that year.
"Jesse and Justin welcomed their little bundle of joy Beckett Mercer Ferguson-Mikita on July 7, 2020," a representative for Ferguson told PEOPLE magazine at the time. "The new parents are overjoyed and excited for this new journey as a family of three."
