Pentatonix's Scott Hoying Breaks Down That Romantic Beach Proposal to Fiancé Mark Manio

It's a love story for the ages!

Six months ago, Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying proposed to his longtime boyfriend Mark Manio in a beautiful beach proposal, and now, he's sharing the details with People.

Hoying broke down the proposal over Zoom, with his fiance next to him.

"I have never met anyone that was so kind and selfless," he said. "I have always just felt so comfortable with him. Right from the beginning, we would talk for hours about things. We have so many similar interests and we have so much fun together."

"It was so easy to fall in love with Scott," Manio added. "He's the most lovable, kind, caring, compassionate, handsome guy ever. I honestly fell in love very quickly. And honestly, every single day I fall in love with them even more. Every day just feels like magic with him."

The proposal came at an especially romantic time, as the two 31-year-olds were celebrating their fifth anniversary at The Ocean Club - Four Seasons Resort in Nassau, Bahamas.

"Actually, it was the most nerve-wracking thing that I've ever done in my life," Hoying told the magazine. "Even though Mark and I had talked about [the engagement] a million times, I still put the pressure on myself to make it perfect."

"We bought rings together last Christmas," he added. "It was a romantic 'under the Rockefeller Christmas tree' moment. We were in the lobby, and we saw the Cartier store and we were like, 'Let's get this part done!' So Mark knew it was coming, but he didn't know when."

"[Scott] actually played it perfectly," Manio said. "He had a private dinner set up on the beach and it was so perfect. We started dancing and Scott started saying the most beautiful and meaningful and caring things to me. I instantly started crying and tearing up. Then he got down on one knee and I could barely believe it. It was everything I could have imagined."

The two are planning on getting married next June, and don't want to stop there.

"We plan on starting a family in the next few years," Hoying said. "We are so excited to raise kids together."

Of course, Hoying shared the photos from People on his Instagram account, where we all get to enjoy the romantic occasion.

"So grateful I decided to quickly stop by that birthday party 5 years ago," Hoying wrote in his post. "It really is so magical how meeting someone can totally shift the trajectory of your life in a single moment. You have enriched my life more than I can put into words & I really wish I could tell my closeted 15 year old self about you, Marky, he would've been so relieved. I love you so much."
