Anne Hathaway apologizes to journalist after their 'cringe' interview resurfaces

Journalist Kjersti Flaa seems to have the worst luck when it comes to celebrity interviews.

In the midst of the past summer's press circus around Blake Lively's film It Ends With Us, Flaa shared an old interview shortly after the actress announced her pregnancy where she congratulated on her "little bump." Lively responded, "Congrats on your little bump" despite Flaa not being pregnant and later revealing that she was infertile.

Now, a second clip has hit TikTok.

The new (old) video shows Flaa sitting down opposite Anne Hathaway during a 2012' press junket for Les Misérables.

"I was going to ask you to do the first question in singing. I sing it to you, then you sing back the answer," she began.

Hathaway responded, "Well, I won’t be doing that but you’re more than welcome to sing."

It then cuts to Flaa asking if Hathaway feels like love was more passionate during the time the movie is set, or if "they sacrifice more for love than they do today."

“No,” Hathaway replied simply.

It cuts again to Flaa asking, “Do you remember your first crush?"

Hathaway responded, "Um, no."

Then the two conclude the interview shaking hands.

Following the resurfacing of the clip, the actor reportedly reached out to the journalist to apologize for her behavior.

Flaa shared the update on the latest episode of her Flaawsome Talk series.

"Yesterday, I did receive an email. It was from Anne Hathaway’s publicist, and he forwarded a message to me from Anne," she shared. "I have to say, I was pretty shocked. I had not expected her to reach out to me at all. I thought she was never gonna even see that video. But she did. And she did something pretty amazing."

In the email, Hathaway reportedly explained what she was going through during that particular interview and she apologized.

"It was so touching," said Flaa. "Just talking about it makes me teary-eyed, I was just so grateful that she did that. And it was a very personal note. We decided that I wouldn’t share exactly what was in the email, but I just wanted to share with you guys what she did.”

Flaa says that Hathaway also offered her the opportunity to interview her again for her next movie.
