Here's Why Fans Think Billie Eilish Just Came Out
Fans think that Billie Eilish is soft-launching her coming out.
On Saturday, August 12, Billie Eilish did an Instagram Q&A with her fans that included a wide range of questions.
One fan asked who was Eilish’s celebrity crush, and the singer shared a picture of Maya Hawke (Do Revenge, Stranger Things) as her answer. Another fan asked, “Fruity?” And Eilish replied with a picture including all sorts of different fruits.
For certain Gen Z stans, those two answers felt clearer than ever that Eilish is hinting at her sexuality. According to the online discourse, there have been several instances in the past when Eilish seemingly suggested that she identifies within the LGBTQ+ spectrum. In turn, others have previously claimed that the popstar was queerbaiting.
To be clear, Eilish has never come out as queer in a way that feels official and indisputable. However, the singer isn’t particularly known for making serious statements in the first place, and has actively employed memes/jokes in the past to convey real messages – which has led to fans thinking that posts like these should be interpreted more seriously. In fact, this particular X post shared by @bridgelor has already 3.5 million views and 10,400 likes.
Scroll through to see what fans are saying when discussing Billie Eilish’s recent Instagram posts.
