Billy Porter first met Adam Smith in 2009, and the absolutely adorable couple has been together since then!

Best known as a Broadway superstar for his roles in theater productions of 1994’s Grease, 2001’s Dreamgirls, 2013’s Kinky Boots, and 2016’s Shuffle Along, Porter’s TV and film career took off after landing the role of Pray Tell on Pose. Since then, the actor has appeared on shows like American Horror Story, The Twilight Zone, Gossip Girl, and The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. On the big screen, Porter appeared as Barrett in 2020’s Like a Boss and the Fabulous Godmother in 2021’s Cinderella. He also made his directorial debut in the 2022 coming-of-age rom-com Anything’s Possible.

After meeting in 2009 and dating for many years, Porter and Smith got engaged in December 2016 and got married just two weeks later. As of 2023, Porter and Smith have been together for 14 years and married for six. Over the weekend, Porter celebrated Smith’s birthday with a heartwarming post that read:

“Happy Birthday to my beautiful husband. I am so grateful to have you by my side on our journey together. You are my rock and my light. I am so proud of you and love watching the way your mind works and your dedication to pursuing your dreams.
