Another one bites the dust?
National Football League (NFL) star Carl Nassib and Olympic swimmer Søren Dahl might be single right now.
The two out, gay athletes hard-launched their relationship in Sep. 2022 with an Instagram picture together. While they didn’t make things clear for a while, fans started to notice more and more posts of them together. Eventually, both Nassib and Dahl acknowledged each other as boyfriends in certain social media posts.
The athletes are now being somewhat cryptic all over again… but for the opposite reason, perhaps. Throughout January 2024, fans have been clocking that Nassib and Dahl are no longer following each other on Instagram, as evidenced in the images below.

As of this writing, Nassib is only following two accounts on his Instagram: The Trevor Project and Rayze (an app launched by Nassib). This could be his way of “softening the blow” when it comes to unfollowing Dahl, or a choice that Nassib has made to only follow two accounts and use Instagram even less. On the other hand, Dahl is also no longer following Nassib, even though he follows over 1,500 people on his Instagram — which stands out as a deliberate choice to unfollow the football star.
And that’s not all. It only takes one quick look at Nassib’s and Dahl’s respective Instagram grids to notice that nearly all of their pictures together have been scrubbed from their pages. Dahl’s grid shows one group photo that includes Nassib, but the former NFL player is no longer tagged in it. On Nassib’s grid, Dahl is only seen in one picture of them together attending an event for The Trevor Project, but Dahl is also no longer tagged in it.

We won’t have full confirmation that Nassib and Dahl have broken up until one of them (or both) issues a statement making it official. However, we’re not expecting that to happen given that both of them keep low profiles on social media.
If Nassib and Dahl did break up, we hope they’re doing okay and that this decision was made for the greater good of each of them as individuals. Breakups suck, but they’re sometimes necessary.
In the meantime, sending all of our love to Nassib and Dahl!
