Could it be?! Have the prayers of many a Marvel fan and gay boy who grew up in the 2000s finally been answered!? Has iconic Fantastic Four and Captain Americastud Chris Evans joined OnlyFans?!!?
Well, unfortunately, despite what online posts made it seem to be over the weekend, it looks like the answer is a big fat no!
In a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) from Friday, an account called @DropPopNet claimed the "news" that "Chris Evans has officially joined OnlyFans," alongside a picture of the actor from a 2023 GQ photoshoot and what looked to be a screenshot of an OnlyFans page with Evans' username, display name, profile picture, and a verified checkmark. (At the time of writing, the X post has over 99.9K likes and over 10.9 million views.)
Understandably at first, fans were both shocked and excited about the "news" of Evans on the infamous content sharing platform, which is mostly associated with creators who make and share adult content. After all, Evans is one of the most popular mainstream actors of our time, after having starred in multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe movies throughout the 2010s.
He's also, to put it frankly, one of the biggest male sex symbols of the modern era (he was named People's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2022), so the possibility of him joining a platform known for spicy stuff was... amusing to some netizens.
Unfortunately, it was all too good to be true, as a community note from X points out that the @DropPopNet account was just trolling users with engagement bait. (A quick scroll of the account shows that they also just share all satirical, unserious pop culture related things, and not any real news.)
"No. Chris Evans has not joined OnlyFans," the community noted reads. "It is not the first time this account has posted this "news." If you search on Google, 'Chris Evans has joined OnlyFans,' you will find that it was posted in July and September but was deleted. And it is not their first fake news."
The funny thing is, though, this isn't the first time Evans has been associated with OF.
Back in 2020, Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo claimed that Evans was managing a fake/burner OnlyFans page, humorously alluding to news earlier that year of when Evans accidentally shared a picture of his member online to social media without realizing it.
For fans hoping Evans was actually on the OF platform this time around, sorry, but it looks like you're out of luck!
