"Over the next few months, we will be rolling out content, resource guides, and interactive features," Zaya Wade announced.

Dwyane Wade continues to be one of the best celebrity dads out there!

The former NBA superstar and husband of Gabrielle Union is the proud father of Zaya Wade, who is about to turn 17 and has been out as trans since 2020. Now, he and Zaya are teaming up for a new project: a non-profit that aims to help LGBTQ+ youth of color and their families.

Translatable is a non-profit built with support from the Human Rights Campaign and Trevor Project that helps support and educate LGBTQ+ youth of color and their families and support systems.

"The question was presented to her as, 'If you have one thing that you want to see change in this community, what would it be?'," Dwyane said about Zaya's ideas for the community. "And, for her, it goes right to parents. It goes right to the adults. It goes right to us. It’s not the kids. It’s us. And so she wanted to create a space that felt safe for parents and their kids. That’s what Translatable is, and it’s her baby."

"Translatable aims to serve as a community safe space for youth to express themselves through a number of creative outlets," Zaya says in the video. "Here at translatable, we focus on communities of color, center the most marginalized, and emphasize the importance of parents and family."

"Translatable is also a resource hub for parents, families, and support systems of the LGBTQ+ youth," Dwyane added. "For our family we were blessed to have a community of supporters and knowledgeable experts who could swiftly arm us with the tools we needed to help Zaya in her journey. We recognize the lack of digestible and relatable information to youth and families, especially communities of color. And to this day, we are still learning."

"I'm so very proud of the daughter that I've had the opportunity to raise. She has been my biggest educator and inspiration for what it means to be true to you," Dwyane continued. "That's why it's so important to create a collaborative space for the community to participate in the conversation and express themselves freely."

"Over the next few months we will be rolling out content, resource guides and interactive features where we can hear from you," Zaya added. "So make sure to sign up for email updates. We're just getting started."

We love to see it!
