Dylan Mulvaney Celebrates Day 500 Since Coming Out as Trans With Video

“It’s day 500 of publicly coming out as a woman, and that’s a win."

Trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney is sharing with the public what life is like now that she’s been living publicly as a woman for a year and a half.

Early in her transition, Mulvaney was quick to share all about what her life was like during her transition, even having a TikTok series called “Days of Girlhood.”

However, as time has gone on and her number of haters has gone up, she’s stepped back a little and let her private life be private. But now, she’s opening up again.

“It’s day 500 of publicly coming out as a woman, and that’s a win. And whatever your take on my series was, at its core, it was about me learning new things. And I think I’ve learned more since day 365 than I did during that whole first year,” she said.

“On day 387 I learned that trust is something that should be earned and not just instantly awarded,” she continued. “On day 398 I learned that misery loves company. I think a lot of people have difficulty seeing others happy and successful, especially when they don’t fit the standard of the patriarchy. And I can’t tell you enough how much these last four months have felt like high school.”

Around that time in her life, Mulvaney had made a sponsored post with Bud Light where she held a can with her face on it. Following that, conservative backlash was harsh, including people destroying cans and boxes of Bud Light and protesting the company.

“On day 402 I learned that you can set your comments on Instagram to followers only!” she laughed, proving that not all of it has been bad.

Mulvaney also revealed that during this time she really learned what it felt like to be pitied, and she said it didn’t feel good.

“But you know who came through for me these last few months?” she asked. “It was trans people and queer people. A lot of which saw this coming, because they knew what it was like to be burnt and I didn’t.”

She revealed that she’s moved on from taking pills to taking hormone injections and that she loves seeing her body change under those. But at the same time, she says she lost focus in the last few months and was focusing too much on her looks and being pretty.

Finally, she dedicated the video to her younger self. “Today is actually day 9705 of being a woman, because I’ve always been one,” she said. “My four-year-old self knew that, my ten-year-old self knew that, my fifteen-year-old self knew that and they deserve to celebrate these wins too.”

Amen, Dylan, and congratulations!
