Congratulations to Emmy nominee Jonathan Bailey!

Congratulations to Emmy nominee Jonathan Bailey!

Earlier this week, the 36-year-old Bridgerton and Wicked star was just nominated for his first ever Emmy for playing Tim Laughlin in the historical drama Fellow Travelers, and now, he's celebrating.

Bailey was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for his performance, one of three nominations the show got. Bailey's co-star Matt Bomer got one for Lead Actor and the show's creator Ron Nyswaner got one for writing.

Bailey shared his excitement over the nomination on Instagram with some milk emojis (his character sexily drinks milk in the show).

"Playing Tim Laughlin was the experience of a lifetime, and I will carry him with me always," he wrote. "For this experience to be recognized in this way, and alongside ultimate leader @mattbomer and the brilliant @ronnyswaner is truly beyond measure."

"It is not lost on me that this sort of recognition is rare. I’ve grown up savouring the minimal queer television and film on offer whilst battling problematic media and societal criticism of queer life," he continued. "I have loved so many award winning dramatic performances of gay characters but for Matt and I to be nominated together as gay actors feels like the sort of progress that would have made the world an easier place to grow up in. For that I am grateful and so unbelievably proud. Thank you to the TV Academy for this opportunity."

"This nomination represents the work of so many. It’s shared with Ron, Matt, Noah, Jelani, Allison, @showtime, @paramountplus and the entire @fellowtravelerssho creative family. And ofcourse, with Tim and all the other angels who fought before us," he concluded.

Bomer also celebrated his nomination on Instagram, writing that he is "grateful beyond measure" for the honor.

The 76th annual Primetime Emmys will be held Sunday, September 15.
