Hunter Schafer has confirmed that she and Spanish singer Rosalía dated for five months.
The Euphoria and Cuckoo star has opened up about her life and relationships in a new interview with GQ where he reveals that in addition to dating her co-star Dominic Fike, she had previously dated Spanish singer Rosalía.
In the interview, Schafer was talking about her relationships, and said that when she dated co-star Dominic Fike, it was her first time dating another famous person publicly, but not her first relationship with a famous person overall.
“I had dated other famous people before, but people didn’t know about it,” she said. “It was completely different.” When asked who, Schafer replied “People who care enough and have done their research probably know what’s up.”
The next day, the interview continued, and Schafer revealed she was talking about Rosalía, with whom she dated for about five months in 2019. The Euphoria star said that it took her a few times hanging out with the singer to figure out that they were, in fact, dating — and not just hanging out.
“It’s been so much speculation for so long,” Schafer said. “Part of us just wants to get it over with, and then another part is like, ‘It’s none of anybody’s fucking business!’”
She added that “it’s something I’m happy to share. And I think she feels that way too.”
Schafer and Rosalía were recently spotted furniture shopping together and remain close friends. “She’s family no matter what,” the actress says.
Schafer also said that Dominic Fike was the first man she ever dated. “I had had so many shitty experiences with men before – not from dating them, but just in life,” she said. “I think I had built up a wall that was way too thick around them. And then I fell in love.”
She also said she’s still healing from the breakup with Fike and isn’t ready for a new relationship yet. “I’m still in some ways healing from the last thing,” she said. “I want to make sure I'm good all the way before I jump into something else.”
