Queer Eye for the Straight Guy? Not entirely!

Y’all wanted a twist, eh?

Jai Rodriguez, the OG “culture expert” of Bravo’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy series, recently filmed a special reunion (hosted by Andy Cohen) with the members of the original Fab Five.

While filming the reunion, Cohen asked the original Fab Five if all the guys that they made over were actually straight. The Fab Five collectively turned to Rodriguez to tell a particular story, suggesting that he has some scalding hot tea to spill about a certain “straight guy” featured in the series.

Even though Rodriguez is saving the full juicy story for the reunion special, he recently did an Instagram live-stream and revealed that some of the men who got makeovers on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy weren’t exactly as straight as they were claiming to be at the time. “I do have a story there, but I only gave a soundbite on Andy,” Rodriguez explained. “You’ll get the full story at the reunion show. I feel like, after 20 years, it’s safe to tell.”

Outside of his Queer Eye for the Straight Guy legacy, Rodriguez has starred as an actor in projects like Bros, Uncoupled, Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens, and Eastsiders. He’s also made various appearances as himself on shows like Dance Moms and a recent guest judge spot on Revry’s Drag Latina.

In 2018, this franchise was rebooted by Netflix under the new, shortened title Queer Eye. While the five cast members chosen for the reboot became overnight sensations, Bobby Berk revealed that he’s exiting the series after season eight.

While we wait for new seasons of Queer Eye on Netflix and for this reunion special with the OG Fab Five to go on the air, we’re out here screaming “Say his name! Say his name!” to Jai Rodriguez.
