Meet Josh Cavallo's New Boyfriend, Aussie Electrician Leighton Morrell

These two are the cutest together!

In October 2021, Josh Cavallo became the first top-flight professional soccer player to come out as gay. “Hi everyone, it’s Josh Cavallo here,” the Australian athlete said in a video shared on social media. “I’m at my home here in Adelaide. There’s something personal that I need to share with everyone. I’m a footballer and I’m gay.”

Cavallo has since become a high-profile advocate for more LGBTQ+ inclusion not only in soccer, but also in the world of sports. For instance, he directly called out FIFA for hosting the 2022 World Cup in a country like Qatar, which still considers homosexuality to be illegal. He was also featured in several campaigns promoting diversity and inclusivity, and went on to appear as a guest judge in the third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under.

It now seems that Cavallo has found love and is ready to hard-launch his new boyfriend all over social media. On Wednesday, Dec. 13, Cavallo shared a silly and adorable video trying to kiss his boyfriend. He wrote in the Instagram Story: “Our goodnight kisses [dinosaur emoji] [heart emoji].”

Cavallo’s boyfriend, Leighton Morrell, describes himself on Instagram as an electrician who lives in Australia. He also has pictures of himself playing rugby and uses hashtags like #inclusivesports. Overall, it seems like these two are a perfect match, indeed!
