Jeremy Bieber wants everyone to "thank the straights" for our existence...

Jeremy Bieber, father of pop superstar Justin Bieber, is making his opinion on Pride Month known after he posted a couple of dismissive social media posts about the celebration.

Bieber, who has children from three different women, started out on June 5 by tweeting, “We need to celebrate families. U know the reason we’re all here! The things this generation glorifies is unbelievable!”

He then posted a meme on his Instagram Story saying “Don’t forget to thank a straight person this month for your existence” with two peace signs next to it.

The message is also written on the Pride Flag.

Following some backlash, Bieber tweeted again, saying, “Acknowledging the nuclear family is offensive? My apologies to those offended. Was not my intent. Not that my opinion matters.”

Self-loathing much?

Having a son in the public eye the way he does, it’s likely Mr. Bieber was more than aware of the comments rendering offense to those it slandered against, especially as there are heightened tensions in the country following the wake of more than 500 anti-LGBTQ+ legislation bills introduced over the past several months, with 70 signed into effect.

The legislations are so bad, in fact, that the Human Rights Campaign recently declared a state of emergency for LGBTQ people in the US, releasing a guidebook for action that summarizes the discriminatory laws state by state, while also providing “know your rights” information for those ready to fight back.

As of now, neither Justin nor his wife, Hailey, have publicly addressed the comments.
