Rose Glass' Love Lies Bleeding was one of the breakout hits of this year's Sundance Film Festival, and it was in huge, gigantic, shredded part due to the breakout performance by out actress Katy O'Brian.
O'Brian played Jackie in the film, a bodybuilder from the midwest who is heading to Las Vegas for a bodybuilding competition when she stops in a small town gym and meets and falls in love with the person running the gym, played by Kristen Stewart.
From there, Love Lies Bleeding devolves into a bloody and brutal rush towards hell that features murder, muscles, and giant women.
One thing that made the movie stand out was O'Brian herself, whose muscles made her look like very few female characters before her.
Now, in a recent series of Instagram story posts, O'Brian has shared just exactly how she got into tip-top shape for the film!

In her stories, O'Brian said that a common question she gets is "how long did it take you to get in shape for Love Lies Bleeding?"
She explained that she booked the part just two weeks before filming began, and "spent the entire shoot trying to maintain as much muscle as possible while cutting weight."

It took a lot longer than that two weeks to build her body, though. O'Brian continued going back, showing how she had previously built muscle for her roles in Antman and The Wasp: Quantumania, Black Lightning, and even going as far back as Z Nation, which she was on seven years ago.
But her work goes even farther back than that. O'Brian mentioned how 10 years ago she did her first bodybuilding competition and how that is when she really started building her body for Love Lies Bleeding.
"So it took like 10 years," she said. "Didn't happen over night. Just had a foundation, consistency, and great trainers."
