As 2023 progresses, more and more LGBTQ+ celebrities are sharing their love stories with the rest of the world, getting engaged, and taking a huge leap toward marriage!
We’re all in when it comes to celebrating LGBTQ+ couples and each of the big steps they take in their relationships. Thankfully, 2023 has been a true lovefest thus far.

On Wednesday, November 8, RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13 fan-favorite Denali announced her engagement to partner Alexander in an Instagram post. Denali wrote on Instagram:
“We engaged! Six years ago, you asked me to dance at Berlin not even a week after I moved to Chicago and six years later I asked you to marry me on your 30th. To a whole lifetime of adapting to what life throws at us, morphing into the new versions of ourselves and our family and to endless nights on the dance floor. Now give me that corporate insurance! Love you @alex_ander_k [heart emoji].”
Big Brother 20 winner Kaycee Clark got engaged to her The Challenge costar Nany Carmen González on September 17, 2023. Carmen wrote in an Instagram post:
“From the moment I met this woman, I knew she was someone special. Our paths crossed in the most unexpected way and I am forever grateful for that chance encounter. My heart is full of love and gratitude for the joy you have brought into my life, Kaycee Noelle.”
She continued, “Our love is unconditional, a love that is meant to last a lifetime, and I am blessed to spend the rest of my days growing old and loving you every step of the way.”
In a November Instagram post, model, actress, and Ex on the Beach star Arisce Wanzer shared a carousel of pictures with partner John Harding, showing that he got down on one knee in front of Sydney's iconic opera house and popped the question.
“ENGAGED,” she simply captioned the post.
Former Pennsylvania state representative Brian Sims popped the question to Alex Drakos, sharing the news with his supporters in an October social media post.
“HE SAID YES!" Sims, who made history in 2013 when he became the first out, gay elected official in Pennsylvania, captioned the post, which featured pictures of him getting on one knee to propose to Drakos during a tip to the beach. “Tonight on the beach I asked Alex if he’d be my husband and he said yes! Our friends have been in on it awhile now and a few weeks ago I asked his parents before I flew out to Hong Kong if I had their permission. Luckily, just like my parents, they were excited and supportive. I’m so stupidly grateful to have this amazing man in my life and now it’ll be forever.”
In August, the couple, who are popular on social media, announced their engagement after Emerson popped the question to Camilo on stage during an event.
“I wanted to say something to you in front of all these people,” Emerson told Camilo. “I wanted to say that every day you fill my heart with gratitude and words cannot express how much gratitude I have for you. There’s not enough time in the world to thank you for the sacrifices you made to being a part of my life for making a life together.”
Emerson continues: “I would like to give you something that expresses the profoundness of how I feel, [which] I cannot express verbally, in front of all of our friends and chosen family here in New York. I offer you my lifelong commitment to you and to the family that we're going to bring together.”
Ben Platt initially proposed to Noah Galvin in November 2022, but little did he know that he’d also get a proposal from Galvin in May 2023. Via Instagram stories, Platt shared a picture of his ring, writing: “He proposed back.” The Dear Evan Hansen actor wrote in a subsequent post, “I said yes.”
Actor Jake Foy, who plays a gay cowboy in the Hallmark Channel series Ride, got engaged to his partner Nicolas La Traverse on May 8, 2023. “Ain’t we got fun…?!” Foy wrote in the Instagram caption announcing their engagement, which took place in front of Alberta, Canada’s gorgeous Two Jack Lake.
Too Hot to Handle and Perfect Match star Francesca Farago got engaged to trans TikToker Jesse Sullivan got engaged on May 2, 2023. The couple wrote in a joint Instagram post:
“WE’RE ENGAGED [heart emoji]. A glimpse into the most magical night ever. Obsessed with our family… what is life!”

Broadway stars Matt Doyle (The Book of Mormon) and Max Clayton (The Music Man) got engaged on April 25, 2023. “While traveling through Schoonhoven in the Netherlands, we spotted a pair of rings, handmade by a local jeweler in town,” they wrote in the Instagram announcement. “Shockingly, they were both a perfect fit. After 8 years together, we think we like each other enough to make it official. From meeting at a Starbucks in New York to Schoonhoven. We are so incredibly lucky.”
Lukas Gage and Chris Appleton started dating in February 2023, and reports of their engagement surfaced in early April 2023. By the end of April, the couple got married in a secret Las Vegas wedding that included the likes of Kim Kardashian.
“We said YES!” Rebel Wilson wrote about her engagement to Ramona Agruma in February 2023. The Pitch Perfect actress came out during the summer of 2022 and opened up about her relationship with Agruma. In 2023, she got engaged to Agruma at Disneyland and proposed with a fancy ring from Tiffany’s & Co. We need to stan!
Country music star Ty Herndon announced in February 2023 that he’s gotten engaged to Alex after dating him for six months. “Today, we are excited to let you know that we are planning a wedding!” the singer wrote in an Instagram post. “That’s right: we’re getting hitched later this year! Here’s to life, love, and wellness!” These two are just the cutest together.
WWE star Sonya Deville proposed to Toni Cassano right after Valentine’s Day 2023. She alluded to that in an Instagram post that read, “Happy Valentine’s Day to my forever valentine! I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love you. You are my rock. You keep our family together, functioning and fed and we love you more than anything.” Then, Deville confirmed her engagement to Cassano in an interview with Out.
