"Let's be adults in the room for a second," Guadagnino said.

Luca Guadagnino wants us to all be adults while discussing his sexy new film Queer.

Guadagnino took his stars Daniel Craig, Drew Starkey, Lesley Manville, and Jason Schwarzman to Venice with him for the premiere of his new erotic drama Queer, and made sure the focus stayed on the film.

During a press conference for the film at the currently ongoing, annual Venice Film Festival, one reporter decided to ask star Daniel Craig his opinion on if James Bond, who he played in five films from 2006 until 2021, might one day be gay.

The question came when a reporter asked about Craig's casting in the film as the gay lead after playing the heterosexual icon Bond in several films. When the reporter asked if that meant that Bond could one day be gay, Craig reportedly looked exasperated.

As Craig laughed and took a drink from his water bottle, Gudagnino stepped in.

"Guys, let's be adults in the room for a second," he said, to some applause.

"There is no way around the fact that nobody would know James Bond's desires, period," Guadagnino continued. "Having said that, the important thing is that he does missions properly."

Guadagnino's film Queer is one of the buzziest out of this year's Venice Film Festival. It stars Craig as American expat William Lee who meets and becomes infatuated with a young man played by Drew Starkey while living in Mexico.

The film has been acquired by A24 for theatrical distribution, and we cannot wait to see it!
