Get over here, Megan!
Actress and bicon Megan Fox is joining the world of one of the most legendary fighting video games as she’s both voicing, and acting as the face model for the character Nitara in the upcoming Mortal Kombat I.
Nitara was first introduced as a character in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance in 2002, and had a cameo appearance in 2004’s Mortal Kombat: Deception, but hasn’t really been seen much since then. Now, she’s coming back with a vengeance.
In a new video, Fox introduces Nitara. “She comes from this weird realm. She is a type of vampire creature, she’s evil but she’s also good. She’s trying to save her people,” Fox says in the video. “I really like her. She’s a vampire, which obviously resonates for whatever reason.”
In case you’ve forgotten, in a 2022 interview with Glamour UK, Fox revealed that she and her boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly “on occasion” drink “just a few drops” of each other’s blood, “for ritual purposes only.”
The character doesn’t just sound like Fox and drink blood like Fox, it also looks like her.
“It’s cool to be in the game,” Fox continues in the video, as it shows bloody and brutal scenes of the character fighting in the game. “I’m not really just voicing it, it’ll be like she’s kind of me.”
Mortal Kombat I comes out for the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on September 14 for Kollector and Premium editions, and September 19 for Standard Edition.
The game also includes two queer characters: Mileena and Tanya. In the previous game, Mortal Kombat 11 (which ended with its timeline being reset), an ending scene shows Mileena and Tanya settling down as Princess of Outworld. The two even have a baby together. We don’t know what their relationship will be like in the new game.
If you order the Kombat Pack, you can also play as Peacemaker, the bisexual anti-hero from Suicide Squad and his self-titled show.
The Mortal Kombat games often have many different skins for characters that slightly change their appearance to have different hair or clothes, so it’s extremely likely that you’ll be able to play as the normally-red-headed Nitara, but with Fox’s long, dark hair, and maybe even an outfit she’s worn. Could we possibly see a Jennifer’s Body skin for the character? We can’t wait to watch Megan Fox perform a fatality!
