Koch, who doesn't have a social media profile of his own, shared this new message through his brother Payton Koch's Instagram story. The Monsters actor wrote:

"I am deeply troubled by the statement made today by District Attorney Nathan Hochman. It is still my firm belief that the Menendez brothers did not receive a fair second trial and all of the evidence that supported their claims of sexual, psychological, physical and emotional abuse at the hands of their mother and father were not considered."

Koch concluded, "I remain hopeful that there is still a path forward that will lead to their freedom, so I encourage all of their supporters to keep their voices strong."

At the height of the Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story rollout on Netflix, Koch joined Kim Kardashian in visiting the Menéndez brothers in prison to listen to the real people fictionalized in the series.

Monsters showrunner Ryan Murphy stated that he had "no interest" in meeting Lyle and Erik Menéndez in real life. Koch's costar, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, who played Lyle on the Netflix show, also discussed how he separates himself from the characters he plays.

Through it all, Koch continuously supported the brothers having the right to request a new trial — a position that the actor has now reaffirmed in response to DA Hochman's new statement.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story is streaming on Netflix.
