Miles Heizer has been cast on Netflix’s new gay military drama The Corps, which is based on the memoir The Pink Marine by Greg Cope White.
According to Netflix’s Tudum, Heizer will play the lead character of Cameron Cope on the show, a gay high schooler who hastily joins the US Marine Corps in an attempt to stop being gay. He enlists along with his best friend, Ray (played by Liam Oh), who is straight. The cast of The Corps also features Vera Farmiga as Barbara (Cameron’s mother), Cedrick Cooper (Sgt. McKinnon), and Angus O’Brien (Hicks), to name a few.
Heizer is best known for playing Drew on Parenthood, Alex on 13 Reasons Why, and Cal in Love, Simon. His other acting credits include films and TV shows like Nerve, ER, Private Practice, and Cold Case. Now, Heizer will be the leading actor on The Corps on Netflix.
