Gay fave Neil Patrick Harris wrote a sweet and nostalgic Instagram post to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his very first date with husband David Burtka.
"Our first date was 20 years ago today," he wrote on April 1, alongside of the happy couple. "Man, how time has flown by… and yet… we've shared so many adventures, created so many remarkable memories."
He ended by writing sweet declarations of his love for his hubby. "If the next 7,300 days are like the previous ones, I'll be absolutely thrilled. Happy anniversary, David. I love you unconditionally, most of the time. XO"
But this wasn't a one-sided celebration! Burtka also marked the occasion with his own Instagram post.
He posted a photo of the pair holding hands with the caption, "My dreams have come true since we decided to take this incredible journey together. Today marks 20 years since our first date and I can't imagine a better life."
He continued, "@nphI love you with all my soul. I deserve a f—ing medal… and so do you."
The 50-year-old Uncoupled actor started dating Burtka, 48, after the two met through a mutual friend in 2004. At the time, Burtka had a boyfriend, but Harris spent time with him as a friend until Burtka was available.
"I'm infinitely grateful all those steps led to Mr. Burtka — once we started talking, we never stopped," he wrote in a personal essay for Out in 2012.
Harris came out publicly in 2007, and the couple hard launched their relationship two months later. Then, in 2010, they welcomed twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott and tied the knot in Italy in 2014.
