The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal opened up about his relationship with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Omar Apollo in a new interview with GQ.
Last week, Apollo revealed the actor would be featured on his upcoming album God Said No, presumably on the penultimate track titled "Pedro." Speculation has since been swirling about Pascal's part on the album and the two's relationship, which was kicked off when the two were photographed hanging out last year.
GQ addressed the speculation directly and asked Pascal if he was "singing, rapping, speaking" on Apollo's upcoming album.
"Omar is a really good… It's his birthday today!" he told the magazine. "Send him a shout out. Omar is a very good friend of mine. I love his music. He's also like me, someone who grew up bilingual. He loves Corona, I've had Corona with him. [Laughs] And so I love being a friend in each other's journeys, and uplifting whatever I can creatively, supporting whatever creative experience that he's having as a friend, as an artist, as a Latino, as a Spanish speaker. It just means a lot to me. But anything else about his album before it comes out, you're going to have to ask him."
Pascal was then asked to choose his favorite song of Apollo's.
"It's on the new album, actually."
Later in the interview, Pascal revealed Apollo actually texted him mid-interview.
"He's a witch, he can hear us… A good witch!" Pascal laughed.
In a recent interview with ABC News, Apollo shared that Pascal "really loves" the last song on the album, "Glow."
"I was like, 'It'd be really cool to hear you speak before that song plays because the song is about grief and heartbreak.' I thought it'd be a really good idea for him to speak on a grief in his life or a story in his life. He sent me a voice memo. I asked him to, then chopped it up, and that's how it turned out."
God Said No comes out June 28.
