Police have shared an update on the death of RuPaul's Drag Race UK season 1 winner The Vivienne.

According to The Sun, a spokesperson for England's Chester Constabulary confirmed officers had been called to an address in Chorlton-by-Backford, near Chester, Sunday at 12:22 p.m., following reports of a sudden death.

"Police attended, investigated the circumstances of the death of the 32-year-old man, and concluded there were no suspicious circumstances," said the spokesperson. "A file will be prepared for the coroner."

No further details were provided.

The initial statement announcing The Vivienne's passing by her publicist Simon Jones asked for privacy for the drag icon's family and friends. "We will not be releasing any further details," the statement reads. "We please ask that James' family are given the time and privacy they now need to process and grieve."

Jones, along with her family, friends, fans, and Drag Race sisters, shared their condolences in the time since The Vivienne's passing.

"James was an incredibly loved, warm-hearted, and amazing person," reads the statement from Jones. "Their family are heartbroken at the loss of their son, brother, and uncle. They are so proud of the wonderful things James achieved in their life and career."

On Monday morning, RuPaul released his own statement on Instagram with a photo. "With a broken heart, I join the entire Drag Race universe in mourning the loss of The Vivienne — an incredibly talented queen and a lovely human being."

The Vivienne, also known as James Lee Williams, won the first season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK and appeared on the all-winners season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 8. The international star also appeared on various World Of Wonder web series, including one with fellow drag star Monét X Change, as well as the BBC medical drama This is Going to Hurt and reality competition series Dancing on Ice in 2023, where she finished in third place. She also starred as the Wicked Witch of the West in a U.K. and Ireland tour of The Wizard Of Oz musical.
