After four weeks, the two men finally talk about their amicable split in separate interviews.

Pop star Ricky Martin and husband Jwan Yosef shocked us all four weeks ago when they announced they were getting a divorce after six years of marriage.

Since then Martin has been touring across Europe and going on yachting vacations with his 14-year-old twin sons, while Yosef has been absent from the public eye except for a selfie he posted to Instagram with the caption, “Tender Loving Care.”

But today, both men spoke out about their split — the “Nobody Wants to Be Lonely” singer in a scheduled interview and Yosef as questions were being lobbed at him by a reporter on the street.

A reporter/camera operator for the Spanish-language talk show Hoy Dia caught up with the Swedish-Syrian artist as he was walking down the street. While the audio quality isn't ideal, Yosef appears to say he is in a “good place.”

“It’s all well, thank you,” he said. “The kids are happy and we’re happily separated.”

Martin, on the other hand, sat down with journalist Lourdes Collazo from Telemundo and opened up about when their marriage started to fall apart and whether or not he’s ready to fall in love again.

“When the public found out, we had already gone through a grieving process,” Martin said as reported by Hoya! “Jwan and I will always be family. We have two children that we are going to raise together, and this is not a recent decision. We have been planning this situation for a long time, it’s pre-pandemic.”

Martin and Yosef plan to share custody of their two children — Lucia, 4, and Renn, 3 — and Martin will continue to raise his two teenage boys that he had prior to his marriage on his own.

When the marriage started to fall apart the dads were careful not to fight in front of their children. “My children never saw a fight between Jwan and me,” Martin said. “That’s why it’s like, ‘Are you going to divorce, are you going to separate, how?’ because we resolved our differences with a good talk, maybe in our room.”

The pair have managed to remain friendly with one another in large part due to how they handled the split. “It has been wonderful. I even told Jwan we should write a book about how to get divorced properly. In fact, if someone is getting divorced, come and talk to us because we already have this figured out,” he quipped. “It has been much easier than we thought, but we’ve done it with time and calmness.”

Despite the smooth dissolution of his marriage, the Puerto Rican crooner isn’t ready to jump right back in the dating pool.

“Take it easy! It was seven or eight years [with Jwan]. I want to have a good time, I want to enjoy life... Let’s take it easy, but yes, I do see myself in another relationship,” he revealed. “I’m not talking about the near future, but I like being in love, I like being in a relationship, I like waking up in the morning to a morning kiss, breakfast, and complicity."

The "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer is heading to the Dominican Republic for a symphonic concert in September before he starts his Trilogy Tour in October where he'll be performing alongside Latin pop stars Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull.

The end of a marriage is always sad, but we’re excited to see what life brings them both... and what hunky guys they may date in the future!
