Rina Sawayama has strong words for Taylor Swift’s latest ex.
Sawayama was performing at this year’s Glastonbury music festival when she called out The 1975 frontman Matty Healy from the stage before she performed her song “STFU.”
“I wrote this next song because I was sick and tired of these microaggressions,” she said to cheers. “So tonight, this goes out to a white man that watches ‘Ghetto Gaggers’ and mocks Asian people on a podcast. He also owns my masters. I’ve had enough!”
Sawayama was referring to an episode of the podcast The Adam Friedland Show, on which Healy appeared and called Afro-Latina rapper Ice Spice an “Inuit Spice Girl” and “a chubby Chinese lady” while doing racist mock accents.
On the same podcast episode, he also tells what he considers to be a “funny story” about a friend forgetting her water bottle at his house after a party, and coming back to get it only to find Healy masturbating to the hardcore porn site Ghetto Gaggers.
“She came back in, I was already flustered. I was dressed as ‘guy who is jacking off,’ so I had, like, an untucked shirt,” Healy laughed on the episode. “And I think it literally was Ghetto Gaggers on the TV — somebody just getting, like, brutalized.”
Ghetto Gaggers describes itself as having “Black Women, White Men, ROUGH SEX,” and has videos titled things like “Black Begs for A White Baby,” “19, Stripped and Whipped,” and “Bred on Juneteenth.”
“STFU” includes lyrics like “Shut the f*ck up, shut the f*ck up (you, I see you)/Shut the f*ck up. Have you ever thought about taping your big mouth shut? 'Cause I have, many times, many times.”
We agree with Rina on this one.
