13 Reasons Why star Tommy Dorfman has reportedly shared a major life update
On Sunday, Dec. 29, Dorfman shared a new social media post with a caption suggesting that she was going through a "heartbreak" and was living by herself. It didn't take long for outlets like People and Just Jared to quickly report on the possibility that Dorfman could have split from her wife, Elise Williams.
This particular post from Dorfman was a carousel of 20 different "random memories of 2024 in no particular order." The actress — and now director — also wrote in the caption that she'd offer "some vague context" for these memories.
The first image shows Dorfman in a bathtub with the caption referencing Nicole Kidman's famous AMC Theatres commercial:
"Heartbreak feels good in a place like this."
In other photos, she also thanked her friends Alix Taylor ("i wouldn't be alive without you") and Annabelle Dexter-Jones ("who kept me breathing and emotionally sober after one of the hardest weeks of my life") without adding further context to why she was struggling.
In another image, her dog Fiona is seen laying on a couch, and Dorfman's caption indicates that she is no longer living with her wife. "Fiona loves her new home and, while it's just the two of us now, i think she's managing better than i," she wrote.
Dorfman announced that she was married to a woman named Elise in May of 2024, revealing that the wedding took place in the fall of 2023 in an essay written for Vogue.
The couple met on the dating app Hinge shortly after Dorfman left her first marriage to Peter Zurkuhlen, whom she was married to between 2016 and 2021. After that relationship ended, she came out as a woman.
Dorfman and Elise got engaged two months after dating and officially tied the knot in 2023 on the Malibu shoreline. At the time, Dorfman said that their relationship would remain private.
"While we won't live our lives online in any way that isn't well-protected, we do see the benefit of celebrating our love with the world — and, frankly, the importance of people seeing trans and queer love en vogue," she said at the time.
