Throughout his nearly 30 years in the music industry, Usher has proudly shown off his chest and abs in a number of live performances and music videos. Here’s a look at 10 of our favorite times he’s been shirtless in music videos.
1. "You Make Me Wanna"
In 1997, a 19-year-old Usher released the lead single from his breakthrough sophomore album My Way, “You Make Me Wanna…” which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and featured Usher dancing in one of his signature looks: an unbuttoned button-up shirt, showing off his abs and chest.
2. "Nice & Slow"
Usher went full shirtless, hanging out in just a towel, in this sexy music video from 1998. “It’s seven o’clock on the dot/i’m in my drop top,” he sings in his first number one hit, and we are ready!!!
3. "U Got It Bad"
The music video for this bop from 2001 opens with Usher shirtless in just a pair of boxer shorts, tossing and turning in his bed as visions of Chili from TLC, who was playing his love interest in the video.
4. "U Don't Have to Call"
This video is a sequel to “U Got It Bad,” again showing Usher in his bed in nothing but white boxers. Soon, he gets out of bed, and dances around his apartment, still shirtless, as he gets ready for a night out.
5. "Burn"
Usher’s smash hit “Burn” from his album Confessions features the sexy singer mourning the loss of a relationship. In some scenes in the middle of the video, we get to see Usher making love with a series of women, and thankfully, we get to see some shirtless Usher.
6. "Confessions, Pt. II"
One of Usher’s greatest shirtless music video moments comes in the video for “Confessions, Pt. II,” where he confesses to his player ways. As he lays his soul bare, he also strips off his clothes, ending the music video in just jeans and boxers.
7. "There Goes My Baby"
Usher released this video in 2010 for the song that won a Grammy for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. In the video, Usher dances in a black tank top, and then later with no shirt at all.
8. "Good Kisser"
Usher plays the drums shirtless in this video from 2013 where he sings about how his girl is a great kisser.
9. "Boyfriend"
In this Keke Palmer-starring music video, we get to see some great looks at a shirtless Usher as he’s getting ready for his show in Las Vegas.
10. "Risk It All" with H.E.R.
In this slow and sexy duet from The Color Purple soundtrack, Usher is shirtless throughout, standing back to back with H.E.R., and posing in sensual and artistic poses with a group of female dancers.
