These days, it's shockingly easy to go viral and become famous as long as straight men are entertained by you.

Straight men will make anyone famous. And if you think we're being mean, well, let us give you a crystal-clear example. Welcome to the stage, straight men's newest obsession: Hawk Tuah girl!

Yes, a cultural phenomenon of drunk girls doing street interviews has taken over straight culture. A few weeks ago, street interviewers @timanddeetv took TikTok by storm after asking Hailey Welch, "What's one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?"

Welch — who was in Nashville partying with friends and drinking — shared an answer to that question that would change her entire life… and it's hard to explain why.

"You gotta HAWK TUAH, spit on that thang," Welch replied, and the straights went WILD.

The viral TikTok video has more than 660,000 views as of this writing, as well as thousands of likes and a flood of comments. As a result, this viral video has led to deep dives and even conspiracy theories about the so-called "Hawk Tuah girl."

On Monday, July 1, Welch went on the Plan Bri Uncut podcast to set the record straight. The rumors surfaced by online speculation included Welch being a teacher and potentially having lost her job following this viral video… but neither of those things are true.

We're still not sure how this video was worth getting hundreds of millions of views, so it would be really WILD if she had gotten fired for it. The truth, though, is the complete opposite: Welch has become so popular for this "Hawk Tuah" quote that she's quit her job, has plans to move to L.A., and is even interested in starting her own show.

The power that straight men have on the internet is truly incredible. But if you want to listen to her side of the story, you can watch Welch's full interview on Plan Bri Uncut below.
