The first episode of Saturday Night Live in 2025 — airing just two days before Donald Trump's inauguration — will be hosted by none other than Dave Chappelle. Given that all three of the comedian's most recent TV specials were highly dedicated to discussing his personal thoughts on trans people, many allies and folks in the LGBTQ+ community are bracing themselves for the anti-trans remarks that may be shared by a man who was supposed to be telling jokes.
Meanwhile, a sensational group of hilarious trans comedians is joining forces to fund, promote, and hit the road with the Here To Pee comedy tour, which kicks off in March and has scheduled dates for the rest of 2025. Their mission is clear: to reach all 50 states in the U.S. as a traveling red-state variety show featuring an all-trans lineup of performers who will be flushing away discriminatory laws through humor, visibility, and connection.
Between fighting for trans rights and equality, as well as connecting communities through shared experiences and laughter, all proceeds from the Here To Pee tour will be donated to non-profits fighting against anti-LGBTQ+ ballot initiatives on a local level.
But as they prepare for this ambitious initiative that blends comedy and activism, Out couldn't help but wonder: Do they have any advice for Chappelle as the formerly funny comedy star hosts the first SNL episode of 2025?
Spoiler alert: Yes, they do!

"As a comedian whose whole brand is being 'misunderstood,' I feel like Dave and I would get along great. Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to grow up to be a misunderstood, mediocre man, too. Stay inspiring, king!"
"I know Dave Chappelle is awfully worried about trans people's chromosomes. And I get it, they're confusing. King, my advice to you is to start by trying to draw a chromosome, perhaps."
"Dave, if you're worried trans comedians can't take jokes, maybe you should come to a show; you might even get inspired! At least you can file a formal grievance afterwards, which is pretty close to your standard joke structure, anyway."
"I really respect Dave Chappelle for trying to understand trans people. The first step to success is failure — so we're clearly on the right track."
"Dave Chappelle thinks trans people don't like lowball humor? As a trans man, I'm just kind of a no-ball humor kind of guy... which I feel like Dave can relate to."

"Dave should ask himself what's more impossible: my pussy, or him writing a joke that's funny to trans people?"
"The only thing more irritating than trans people constantly shoving our identities down cis peoples' throats are cis people constantly shoving our identities down their own throats."
"If I spent as much time talking about Dave Chappelle as he spends talking about trans people, I'd take a vow of silence, just to give myself a break."
"Having never hosted SNL, I feel I'm as qualified to advise anyone on how to do so as Dave Chappelle is to advise anyone on how to respond to transphobia... but I suspect I'll be paid less for my unqualified opinions."

"Hearing Dave Chappelle talk about the trans community is like hearing Andrew Schulz talk about Black women. You clearly have feelings over the one person in our community that you actually fucked and couldn't satisfy. Maybe take that to therapy?"
"After years of TERF-positive rants, maybe try something new in your mouth. Like a joke? Or a cock?"
"Honestly, I feel like the only reason that [Joe] Rogan and Chappelle have such a strong anti-trans sentiment is that they're trying to hoard all the T for themselves."

"Hey Dave, big fan. If you're going to write jokes about trans people, it would be helpful to interact with a few trans folks beyond Pornhub."
"As a producer at an open mic once told me: 'Please stop talking so much about trannies, or people will think you're gay.'"
"Dave, please stop sending me nudes on Signal."

"On your quest to becoming the second most successful person whose name starts with 'Chappell' to appear on SNL this season... I say to you, 'Good luck, Dave!'"
"This episode of SNL will be as memorable as the 1996 sitcom Buddies. So, frankly, Dave can do whatever the hell he wants."
"Do what you love! And since you love punching down so much, please consider punching yourself in your own nuts... over and over again."
