Users are speculating that the suspect, Luigi Mangione, could inspire a new season of a Ryan Murphy production.

Police have made an arrest in connection with the killing of a health insurance executive — and the identity of the suspect has sparked queer fascination on social media.

Luigi Mangione, 26, was arrested Monday at a McDonald's in Altoona, Penn., following a manhunt over last week's shooting of Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare. Police are now questioning Mangione, whom they've called "a strong person of interest" in the murder, reports the New York Times.

Details about Mangione are emerging. According to the Times, he graduated valedictorian of the prestigious Gilman School in Baltimore in 2016. And he holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

After the arrest, photos of Mangione spread quickly on social media, an indicator of the public's fascination with the case, which has sparked some problematic debate over vigilante justice and the ethics of the health care industrial complex. Mangione's Instagram profile has garnered over 60,000 followers at the time of this article's publishing.

Queer users drew parallels between the fit and good-looking Mangione and Ryan Murphy productions like American Crime Story and Monsters, which follow attractive killers. "Ryan Murphy is going to turn this into a full on softcore porn," noted influencer Joey Camasta in a meme. The caption read, "If you thought the Menendez brothers was too much just wait for this."

"Safe to say that Cooper Koch just locked down a new role," Camasta added in a follow-up post, juxtaposing an image of Mangione with the Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story star.
