After updating fans, there has been a swelling of support, with many of her Drag Race sisters encouraging the fandom to send signs of support as well as money to help with medical bills.

In a set of Instagram stories posted this week, Devayne reveals that she was rushed to the hospital unsure of the cause of her recent sickness. While there she tested negative for the virus at the center of the ongoing global pandemic but that the doctors also noticed she had high blood pressure. "They think that I'm going through kidney failure," she explained. As a result, the doctors wanted to do a biopsy of the star's kidneys to test for the root cause.

In an update, Devayne revealed that her blood pressure had gone done and the doctors had scheduled her for "three hours of dialysis to see if they can get my kidneys back functioning. She noted to followers that this was in ways a fall out from her scleroderma diagnosis she revealed in 2018. That condition attacks various internal organs. According to Devayne her current state is a result of going "too long without going to the doctor."

"These are the consequences," she said. Since she's gotten catheters installed and is "hopefully at the last stage of my treatment."

On social media supporters, and other queens rallied around her. "Senda a special prayer for my baby Chi Chi Devayne," Kennedy Davenport wrote to Twitter. "We need to bombard heaven's gates. Speak her name and thank God for his will to be done. Speedy recovery baby girl."
