Sherry Pie, the disgraced drag performer who was disqualified from the 12th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, has been trying to stage a comeback.
Back in January of this year, an in-drag Sherry Pie was rumored to attend and/or perform at a wedding ceremony in New York. Over the next few months, the embattled queen also started advertising a profile on Cameo for people to request personalized videos. (As of this writing, a Cameo video of Sherry Pie costs $40.)
When fans started to share photos and videos of Sherry Pie advertising their presence on Cameo, Drag Race star Jan Sport spoke out against her former costar’s resurgence. “I never need to see Sherry on my timeline ever again,” Jan Sport wrote in an X post from Apr. 1. “The tea? She lied to our cast when her actions came to light and told us she stopped her behavior after we filmed because she ‘realized it was not right.’ Cut to seeing proof of the same behavior a week before we aired.”
Jan Sport added in a second X post, “I don’t trust that she wouldn’t do the same thing to people again. I’m not saying she can’t do drag and express herself… But a platform? Nah. I guarantee whatever you’re looking for in a cameo from her, you can absolutely find from another queen.”

On Wednesday, Apr. 3, Sherry Pie shared a series of Instagram stories, one of which read:
“I don’t need to argue with BACKPACKS.”
If it’s already not clear enough, Jan Sport’s drag name is based on the JanSport brand of backpacks. The queen and the company even launched an official collaboration earlier this year of Jan Sport-branded JanSport backpacks and apparel.

Back in 2020, Sherry Pie was disqualified from Drag Race season 12 after allegedly pretending to be a casting director and corresponding with five up-and-coming actors who reportedly sent pictures and videos of themselves — sometimes sexual in nature — under the impression that they were participating in a casting process for big projects in film and TV. But those casting opportunities were fake, as was Sherry Pie’s name while corresponding with those actors under the catfishing persona of a casting director.
In response, RuPaul’s Drag Race, VH1, and World of Wonder issued a statement to announce that Sherry Pie had been officially disqualified from the series. The statement read:
“In light of recent developments and Sherry Pie’s statement, Sherry Pie has been disqualified from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Out of respect for the hard work of the other queens, VH1 will air the season as planned. Sherry will not appear in the grand finale scheduled to be filmed later this spring.”
