Party!

During a recent interview on the Very Delta podcast, Adore Delano revealed that she was originally meant to be on season five of RuPaul’s Drag Race. However, producers at the time told Delano that she needed to “cook up for a bit” and “get her wardrobe up.”

Delano still didn’t have enough clothes a year later to compete on Drag Race season six, but she was thankfully able to count on a dear friend to help her out. According to Delano, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6 winner Kylie Sonique Love showed up to her apartment back then “with three trash bags of drag.”

You can watch Delano telling this adorable story in the video below.

It’s really amazing to know that Love had the foresight to insist that Delano had to go on Drag Race, and if clothes were a problem, then she was going to help her solve it.

In hindsight, it’s ludicrous to think that Delano – one of the ultimate fan-favorite queens in the entire Drag Race franchise – almost didn’t go on the show due to a lack of clothing. Clearly, Love saw Delano’s talent and didn’t let her friend and peer pass up on this opportunity.

Many years later, Love came back to compete on All Stars 6 and was crowned the winner – becoming the first trans contestant in herstory to enter the Drag Race Hall of Fame.

Gotta love these stories about friendship, support, and sisterhood!

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 8 airs Fridays on Paramount+.
