ENGAGEMENT: In A Catered Affair playwright-actor Harvey Fierstein, composer John Bucchino, and director John Doyle unite to tell the story of a Bronx wedding turned battleground when visions clash between a mother and her daughter. Playing at the Walter Kerr Theater (219 W. 48th St.) on Broadway, the show features performances from Fierstein himself, as well as Faith Prince, Tom Wopat, Leslie Kritzer, and Matt Cavenaugh. TUNES: HBO breakout and New Zealand's fourth most popular folk parody duo Flight of the Conchords (above) release their first studio album, the appropriately titled Flight of the Conchords, April 22. Recorded between Wellington, Los Angeles, and New York City, the adorably offbeat duo's set includes concert and TV favorites like the synthy Pet Shop Boys spoof "Inner City Pressure" and the absurdly brilliant, Serge Gainsbourginspired opener, "Foux du Fafa." For once we suggest snagging the actual CD, which includes a flashy illustrated poster of our lovable goofballs Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie. Also out this week is the Gossips Gossip: Live in Liverpool, a scorching CD and concert DVD package that includes the band's covers of Wham!'s "Careless Whisper" and Aaliyah's "Are You That Somebody?" TUBE: Rejoice! It's the return of scripted television! This week Ugly Betty is back, bigger -- and gayer -- than ever. With a reported roster of guest stars including Project Runway judge (and former Elle mag diva) Nina Garcia and swishy Runway winner Christian Siriano (above), it seems the camptastic show is upping its fashion forwardness. In Thursday's episode, Gabrielle Union pops back up as Wilhelmina's sis, revealing secrets from her past. Will the dishy tidbits thwart the fabulously deceitful editrix's plan for world domination? Only the premiere on April 24 will tell. Catch a teaser and season recap here. BABES: In Baby Mama the incomparable Tina Fey plays Kate, a 37-year-old infertile organic grocery store exec still itching for a kid. To solve the problem she hires Angie (Amy Poehler) as a surrogate, welcoming the sloppy spitfire into her home. The two women prove less than compatible, resulting in plenty of LOL-worthy moments and cringe-inducing drama, including a baby shower debacle that may just -- dare we say it -- tug at your heartstrings.
