The Transparent star is nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of Maura Pfefferman
Last week on The Late Late Show With James Corden, Jeffrey Tambor discussed the time he got to spend with Caitlyn Jenner. Tambor is up for an Emmy this year for his portrayal of Maura Pfefferson, a transgender woman who transitions late in life, on the Amazon hit series Transparent, a fact that lent the meeting added significance.
He told Corden:
"A group of us from the cast had dinner with her, and she's amazing, and gorgeous, and very dedicated."
"I'm a cisgender male and I've been honored with playing this role so I'm humbled when I meet Caitlyn and talk with her - she was fabulous and she is really, really well-versed, and she's committed."
"The bottom line about all of this is this is serious business - it's about safety and lives are at stake. And she was very very beautiful about it, and she's very well-intentioned, and I was very impressed."
