One of our founding fathers is about to take a turn as a dastardly warlock. Javier Munoz, of Hamilton fame, is about to dabble in the dark arts in a guest role on ABC Freeform's upcoming third season of Shadowhunters.

Surprising fans at the New York Comic Con panel for the show, Munoz appeared in a recorded greeting expressing his delight. "You know I'm a fan of the show, I'm a fan of this genre," Munoz said. "I'm already in love with this character and I can't wait for you to meet him."

Munoz has already ducked away to film scenes for the show in Toronto, but couldn't miss the matinee performance of the smash Broadway hit to make the panel in person. Though details are scarce, we know Munoz will play opposite Harry Shum Jr.'s Magnus Bane as an adversarial warlock. Season three of Shadowhunters premieres on ABC Freeform April 18, and was picked up by the network for another 10 episodes in the summer of 2018. Watch Munoz's Comic Con greeting, below.
