Australian Celebs Come Together With GLAAD To Encourage Marriage Equality

It's coming down to the wire in Australia concerning the nation's vote for marriage equality. With survey ballots mailed out en masse to citizens, the trickling results are too close to call, spurring parties on both sides of the debate to reinvigorate their campaigns.

In a new video partnering with GLAAD, a gaggle of Australian celebrities have come together to give voters a last minute nudge to do their civic duty and have a say in this historic election. The likes of Yvone Strahovski, Luke Hemsworth, Hugh Sheridan, Dan Macpherson, and Courtney Act have come together to urge the country toward love and equality.

Though the survey is non-binding and voluntary, if a "Yes" majority is reached Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has said that he would introduce pro-marriage equality legislation to Parliament. "Everybody has the right to love," said Strahovski in the video, "and everyone has the right to choose who they love." The recommended date for Australians to have their ballots mailed in by is October 27, but the hard deadline is November 7.
