We're finally getting a chance to listen to some of the upcoming song covers from Tegan and Sara's, The Con X: Covers.
Just shy of a month away, the album celebrates the duo's breakthrough LP a decade later, with notable names in today's music scene covering the track list. Out today is CHVRCHES cover of "Call It Off," which they somehow manage mellow out even more than the original.

"Lauren [Mayberry of CHVRCHES[ was one of the first artists we approached for The Con X: Covers project" Tegan Quinn told EW. "We are massive fans of CHVRCHES and the music they make. Lauren is an ally to the LGBTQ community and has been outspoken and political, so she fit the ethos of the project perfectly."
Diverging from some of their more upbeat and electro-infused songs, CHVRCHES makes "Call It Off" almost unrecognizable, the lyrics playing so softly you may forget you're listening to anything but instrumental. When you find the lyrics they're soaring, as if carried on a breeze.
Proceeds from sales of The Con X: Covers, out October 20, will go to the Tegan and Sara Foundation, which funds social equality and acceptance projects for LGBTQ girls. Watch, below.
