In the video for his latest song, "Too Good At Goodbyes," Sam Smith lends his soulful voice to the tipping points of several relationships. Poised on the brink, it's impossible to tell which relationship will rise to the challenge, reinforcing itself through resolution, and which will burn out in a meteoric flare of passion.
"The song is about a relationship I was in and it's basically about getting good at getting dumped," Smith said of the song in a release, his first new piece of music in two years. Co-written by Jimmy Naples and produced by the Norwegian duo Stargate, the song's video illustrates its message perfectly, but doesn't sentence every couple to loneliness. "It's been a long while since I've put any music out and I feel that this first single sets the tone of what is to come." Watch, below.
