The First Trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story Shows Han Was Always a Bit of a Rebel

The wait for Han Solo's origin story is (almost) over. After a teaser during Sunday's Super Bowl game, the first full trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story is here. Complete with all the space-flying and blaster-firing you'd expect from the youth of one of the galaxy's most notorious smugglers, the film will chronicle Han's quest to become the best pilot in the galaxy.

"I was kicked out of the flight academy for having a mind of my own," Han (Alden Ehrenreich) quips, as we catch glimpses of other members of the impressive cast: Emilia Clarke as Qi'Ra, Woody Harrelson as Tobias Beckett, Thandie Newton as a so-far unnamed character, and Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian.

From side-street chases to run ins with the imperial fleet, Solo looks like it could be on its way to giving one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars franchise an exciting, deeper backstory. Watch, below.
