Just when you thought New York City Pride couldn't get any gayer, Kylie Minogue has been revealed as this year's Pride Island headliner.
The perennial icon will close out this year's celebration on the Sunday stage of the recently revamped version of Dance on the Pier. "With the success of last year's Pride Island, we are thrilled to bring back our music festival in a two-day format," said Pride Island director Jose Ramos. He says this year's roster is full of "perfect examples of the evolution of Dance on the Pier."

Sharing the Sunday stage with Minogue will be DJ Grind, Ralphi Rosario, and Corey Craig. Opening the weekend during Saturday's festivities will be Tove Lo, Big Freedia, Lizzo, Dawson, Simon Dunmore, and Sasha Velour.
The theme of the 2018 edition of NYC Pride is, fittingly, "Defiantly Different," celebrating the diversity and inclusiveness of the LGBTQ community and its ability to bring people together. "This year's theme is about showing our power, squaring our shoulders in the face of adversity, and continuing to sculpt that magnetic bond within the LGBTQ+ community and our allies," says Pride co-chair David Studinski. "The corresponding creative showcases a wide selection of defiantly different community members - from performance artists to mental health advocates. We are standing defiantly - defiantly different and defiantly as one."
New York City Pride takes place from June 14-24 this year. Ticketing information can be found here.
