If you thought the theatrical release of Fifty Shades Freed was your deliverance from anymore pop culture references of the polarizing trilogy, think again.
Just as before, women of a certain age are getting into the spank-heavy smut of the E.L. James series. But this time, instead of finding your mom's copy or *cringes* your grandmother's, it's Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen falling for Mr. Grey's charm and money.
In the first trailer for Book Club, an excited Vivian (Fonda) presents her older, suburban friends with copies of the first Fifty Shades book during their regular book club meeting. "No. We started this book club to stimulate our minds," says Sharon (Bergen).
"From what I hear, this book is quite stimulating," Vivian replies with a wink.
As the trailer plays on it seems (hopefully) that Fifty Shades is more of a catalyst for these women to realize that love is a possibility at any age, and that they're still capable of living life to the fullest. The film looks like it could be enjoyable as long as, with most things Fifty Shades-related, you don't take it too seriously. Watch, below.
