The third season of All Stars will live in infamy within the RuPaul's Drag Racetelevision dynasty. Its name will be eternally invoked by queens old and new as an example of how gimmicks can get the best of some of the most talented performers to ever walk through the workroom doors, and poor Trixie Mattel will be stuck in that crossfire forever.
During a recent stop on Watch What Happens Live, a caller asked Emmy Award-winning host RuPaul about the decision to change up the format in which the final queens were chosen. "Cause we're hootie. We're crazy. We just wanna do crazy things," answered Ru.

"People on my staff were upset that Shangie didn't make the top two," said Cohen.
"That's on them," replied Ru, silently reminding everyone that it was out of his and Trixie's hands who ended up in the top two.
"Do you think they didn't judge on talent?" asked Cohen, with Trixie standing right behind all of them, spinning around wondering if she's invisible. Few would argue that Shangela didn't deserve a spot in the top two of this season, but the gags of RuPaul's Drag Race take no prisoners. Trixie wasn't an undeserving winner and was the best possible outcome all things considered. Watch the shade, below.
