Bette Midler Returning to Hello, Dolly For Summer Run
It looks like Hello, Dolly will be getting the star treatment it deserves during its final weeks on Broadway. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bette Midler herself will be slipping back into her period garb and extravagant hats for the show's last six weeks of production.
Midler, who won the Tony for best actress in a musical for her turn as Dolly Levi, will be accompanied by other cast originals David Hyde Pierce and Gavin Creel when she returns on July 17.

"I am delighted to return to the scene of one of the greatest experiences of my life, and I know the brilliant Bernadette Peters enjoyed her turn as much as I did," said Midler. "Dolly Levi is one of the most joyful characters in Broadway history, and Bernadette and I were lucky to be able to step into her glorious shoes."
Hello, Dolly saw Midler return to the Broadway musical stage after nearly 50 years away and she headlined the revival, which opened in April 2017, until January of this year. Tickets for the final shows, which end on August 25, go on sale April 28.
