Northshore High School almost had a different face vying for popularity in Tina Fey's 2004 comedy Mean Girls. During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show while promoting the upcoming second season of HBO's Westworld, Evan Rachel Wood expressed her remorse for having missed out on a chance to be a part of the cult favorite.

When asked by host Jimmy Fallon if she had auditioned for the film Wood dropped a bomb. "It's even worse," she said. "I turned it down." Cue shocked gasps from the audience and a hung head from Wood herself. The actor went on to explain that at the time she had already signed on to be a part of another high school film, Pretty Persuasion. It's not Wood's fault, no one could have predicted how much of an impact Mean Girls would have. Maybe in Universe B she was a starring member of the cast and fetch actually happened. Watch, below.
