Melissa McCarthy Makes a Surprise Visit to Saturday Night Live for Mother's Day
McCarthy livened up the episode playing Michael Che's devoted stepmom.
Like most episodes of Saturday Night Live, last night's Amy Schumer-led installment was a bit uneven in terms of sketch quality, but as is usually the case, a surprise celebrity cameo helped to save the night. During Weekend Update, Melissa McCarthy made an unexpected entrance playing Michael Che's stepmom, and the actress did not disappoint.

Another highlight of the episode was a pre-taped sketch, "The Day You Were Born," in which Schumer got to show off her flair for broad comedy playing a mom telling her son some...half truths about the way he entered the world.
